IRGC says Operation True Promise III forced Israel and US to seek ceasefire

The IRGC announced that Iran launched 22 waves of missile strikes under Operation True Promise III in response to Israeli aggression.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced that it conducted a powerful, sustained, and multi-layered campaign under Operation True Promise III, targeting a wide array of Israeli military sites across the occupied territories.

In a statement on Thursday, the IRGC said its crushing response forced both “criminal” Israel and the “already-defeated” United States to plead for a ceasefire.

The operation was launched in response to a call by Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and with the support of the Iranian people. It included 22 waves of ballistic missile strikes aimed at Zionist military assets.

The IRGC emphasized that the operation was designed to punish aggression and demonstrate Iran’s strength, achieving strategic gains such as weakening enemy defenses, boosting national morale, and garnering regional support.

“These strikes hit a wide range of military targets in al-Quds and proved that Iran’s forces will never leave aggression unanswered,” the statement added.

On June 13, Israel launched a full-scale assault on Iranian soil, striking military and nuclear sites and killing top commanders, scientists, and civilians.

In retaliation, Iran’s armed forces, led by the IRGC, launched an unprecedented counterattack with hundreds of missiles and drones in 22 waves, striking key Israeli military, intelligence, and infrastructure sites.

The United States entered the conflict by bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan in an attempt to support Israel.

Iran responded with Operation Tidings of Victory, launching ballistic missiles at the al-Udeid air base in Qatar, the largest US military base in West Asia.

The IRGC stated that even US military intervention could not shift the battlefield, and Iran’s missile strike on al-Udeid reaffirmed its strength.

The statement added that Iran’s response shattered the myth of Israel’s invincibility, intensified its internal crisis, and inspired oppressed nations to resist global powers.

The 12-day war ended on Tuesday after Israel declared a unilateral ceasefire, which Iran also accepted.

The IRGC concluded that although Israel started the war, it was Iran’s armed forces—especially the IRGC Aerospace Force—that ended it with a decisive final strike.

Earlier that day, Ayatollah Khamenei congratulated the Iranian people on their victory over the aggressors.
